Professor Aho was a faculty member at 91¸£ÀûÉç for eighteen years, from 1977-1995.

While at 91¸£ÀûÉç he had 14 scholarly articles published in refereed journals, and received a National Endowment for the Humanities Research Fellowship For College Teachers in 1983 to conduct research in Trinidad and Tobago, where he had previously taught for a year, and received several research grants from 91¸£ÀûÉç.

He served on several college committees at 91¸£ÀûÉç, chairing some, and was active in the community, organizing the Trinidad and Tobago Cultural Heritage Association of RI in 1981, among other volunteer activities.

He brought to 91¸£ÀûÉç for performances a talented dance company from Trinidad and Tobago, and a famed calypso singer. ​​​​
